This idea of serving in the South Korean military became the inspiration and concept for my final graduation piece. I have decided to focus and reveal the negative aspects of the South Korean military system by creating a two part book series.  Volume 1 will be an introduction to the history of the Korean military and how the Korean military system works. Various interview based material with male friends and family will be used to support and reveal the negative characteristics and flaws of the Korean military system.  To further emphasize and support the facts and experiences, these ideas will be interpreted graphically.
Volume 2 will be the follow up of Volume 1, showing to what extent males will go in order to avoid military service because of the various negative experiences and flaws in the system. All will be illustrations in which I will explore the best way in which to balance text and visuals to effectively deliver my intended message against serving in the military.
